Cozumel Mexico

I took my Dental Boards Part I on July 27th and on July 28th we went to Cozumel, Mexico and spent a week at El Cozumeleno, an all inclusive gorgeous resort. This is Zach's favorite souvenir. He claims he will get alot of use out of it....

The best part was all the time we got to spend together relaxing and enjoying each other's company.

The restaurant we ate breakfast and lunch at right on the ocean. I loved the huge variety of fresh fruit, esp. the mangos.

The tequila factory tour....the straight agave juice, undistilled, very tasty and Zach's favorite.

Outside the tequila factory, the fountain and the agave plants, which grow for 10 years before they are dug up and opened to make 6 Liters of tequila.

We stopped at Playa Corona and snorkeled, they had a very shallow reef and some neat fish, and some people near us saw an octopus, which scared me, so we got out.

We were walking on the beach near our hotel and Zach stepped on some rocks covered in wet algae, and cut his foot halfway thru our trip, so we cleaned the cuts up, but we couldn't stay out of the pools and the ocean, so they got infected, and they are still healing.

Every night the hotel had some type of entertainment, and one of the nights they had these dancers and a mariachi band.

We had a blast at the beach, relaxing in the hammocks, snorkeling, reading, and Zach editing a script.

They had a very nice tennis court outside our hotel where Zach and I played until he was drenched in sweat.

White Coat Ceremony

A photo of me and my mom before the ceremony. She flew out for the weekend to come to the ceremony. We had so much fun and she spoiled me as usual. It is so fun to spend time with someone you like so much.

Spring Break-New Orleans Louisiana

We visited Zach's college roommate and his wife, Gary and Andrea, for our spring break. Here we are eating brunch at Le Pavillion. Very delicious New Orleans food and a gorgeous old hotel. Crawfish, "mud bugs", a New Orleans favorite. You rip off the head and squeeze and suck it and peel and eat the tail. Zach was pretty disgusted at first, but after some encouragement tried them. Gary ended up eating 9 lbs.

Mardi Gras World

We are wearing masks that they wear on the floats; they are made of styrofoam and covered in paper mache and paint. If you ride on the float you must never have your face be seen, so everyone wears masks the entire ride. You also have to be part of that floats' "crew" to ride their float, which costs between $600-1500, which covers the cost of making the floats. You also have to provide your own beads, moon pies, coins, etc. that you will be throwing.
